One Night is Average

I don't think I am qualified to do a book review, but lemme just put a few words on one book I picked with great expectations - Chetan Bhagat's latest - One night @ the Call Center. I had to fight with my roomie Rajeev to grab it before he lent it to someone else. Sadly... you know what, it was not worth the fight !!

Hooo.. I don’t believe I finished it...... More than half the book is crammed with silly talks, boring events, lots 'n lots of America bashing. I found it dull and uninspiring to move forward. The author would always argue for the contextual build up before the climax, but when you see that 240 out of a 260 page book is crap, it’s imaginable. In stark contrast with his first book - Five Point Someone, which was so close to heart and so natural, this one falls way behind.

In spite of all this, the book like its predecessor doesn't fail to deliver a message; a message for the country's youth through the voice of "GOD".

Return of The King

Genius would be an understatement for Sachin Tendulkar. He's the best of the very best, of unmatchable class, epitome of sportsmanship, above all an epic character.

Like millions of his ardent fans, I have followed his career for the past 15 years since days of tryst with Cricket. A perfect ambassador for the game, a gentleman on and off the field, controversies hardly touch this demigod.

Never would have anyone in the history of sports, bore a billion hopes on one's shoulders as he does. Under tremendous pressure and expectations, he delivers time and again with his repertoire of shots, sublime class and outstanding consistency leaving lesser mortals miles behind. Yet sometimes he fails...... fails ironically to live up to his own high standards.

After six months of agony and frustration, little master is now back in the thick of things. The youthfull passion and aggression that won him accolades world over, is on display again. It's time now to set some more records tumbling. It's time to play for his pride.

The God is back….!!
