Inspired by Howard Roark !

Oflate I have had the privilege to read Ayn Rand's masterpeice - "The Fountainhead" - A timeless classic that has inspired and tranformed people for almost 70 years. The novel portrays an American society of early twentieth century when the threat of collectivists stranglehold is looming.

Howard Roark - the protagonist is inspirational. An egotist who opines that man lives primarily for his own good, and his own needs. Being creative, he believes that a creative mind can never belong to the altruist. Creativity stems from a man's selfishness and not from his concern for the society. From time immemorial, Creator worked for his own ego...his desire to practise what he likes or believes. Philanthropist - the culprit, took it for the common good.

In a collectivist society, there are no individual opinions, thoughts or reasoning. Any and every decision is a compromise. It's a kind of servitude - where men are slaves of men. Men who are made and unmade by public opinion. Men who use others and let themselves be used. A bunch of non-creative parasites that stagnate civilization.

Roark - an individualist remains unaffected by society. Amidst clamour, protests, and propaganda he holds his head; stands firm for his believes and silently, single-handedly fights the menacing collectivist beast swallowing the American society.

The New Year Post

As one more year passes by, we stand and behold the trails - the left overs. Haunting moments of success ..elation ..disaster and desperation. Moments - defining ones, gems - treasured in mind...lost in time!

Again ...again we stand at the altar, like fresh and fragrant buds awaiting the new sun. We always loved ...its pure ...its chaste. And there it cometh, spreading a million wings of hope...poised in tranquility. We kneel and bow our heads in reverence....! As whispers 'n wishes waft the new scent, we revel in joy unbridled! We dance..we bathe in glory..our minds errupting!

And then we live...we live the New Year !!

Moment to Savour

In comes a short pitched delivery from Vaas; flicking it to square leg in his trademark fashion , Tendulkar scrambles for a single. That's it...35th Ton....Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar has created history.

Pumping fists... Bat raised to heaven...Eyes closed... Teammates applauding...Crowd going ecstatic....this is a moment to savour. Well done SRT !!

One Night is Average

I don't think I am qualified to do a book review, but lemme just put a few words on one book I picked with great expectations - Chetan Bhagat's latest - One night @ the Call Center. I had to fight with my roomie Rajeev to grab it before he lent it to someone else. Sadly... you know what, it was not worth the fight !!

Hooo.. I don’t believe I finished it...... More than half the book is crammed with silly talks, boring events, lots 'n lots of America bashing. I found it dull and uninspiring to move forward. The author would always argue for the contextual build up before the climax, but when you see that 240 out of a 260 page book is crap, it’s imaginable. In stark contrast with his first book - Five Point Someone, which was so close to heart and so natural, this one falls way behind.

In spite of all this, the book like its predecessor doesn't fail to deliver a message; a message for the country's youth through the voice of "GOD".

Return of The King

Genius would be an understatement for Sachin Tendulkar. He's the best of the very best, of unmatchable class, epitome of sportsmanship, above all an epic character.

Like millions of his ardent fans, I have followed his career for the past 15 years since days of tryst with Cricket. A perfect ambassador for the game, a gentleman on and off the field, controversies hardly touch this demigod.

Never would have anyone in the history of sports, bore a billion hopes on one's shoulders as he does. Under tremendous pressure and expectations, he delivers time and again with his repertoire of shots, sublime class and outstanding consistency leaving lesser mortals miles behind. Yet sometimes he fails...... fails ironically to live up to his own high standards.

After six months of agony and frustration, little master is now back in the thick of things. The youthfull passion and aggression that won him accolades world over, is on display again. It's time now to set some more records tumbling. It's time to play for his pride.

The God is back….!!

The First Step

After days of pondering/resisting myself from this wonderful phenomenon, I finally start one at this very moment. My friends have always been my inspiration, and here I try to emulate a few of them. Right now, I have the faintest of ideas of what I intend to scribble down here.......probably my craziest thoughts and wildest dreams.

To be able to relive your own musings, the lost passing thoughts is a treasure. To re-create impressions that life sculpts on your heart is titillating. Above all, the immense pleasure that creativity provides is unfathomable........

And so I begin.....
